Lisa L.Weinell

Lisa Longfellow-Weinell has worked for the Louisiana Department of Health for thirty-three years. She served as an Epidemiologist for the HIV/AIDS Program, Director of the STD Control Program, State Refugee Health Coordinator, and as a Behavioral Health Program Manager.  In these roles she has been charged with assuring that state and federal regulations and laws were met; collaborated with appropriate programs and organizations working toward comparable goals and missions; represented the program on intra-and inter-agency task forces, committees, etc.; provided leadership in developing and implementing program plans and data sets consistent with funding requirements and initiatives; maintained a critical role in formulating and implementing policy pertaining to the planning, directing, management, and evaluation of programs; served as the principal program representative and provided programmatic direction, expertise and guidance to officials and the public. Lisa volunteers for HEROES as a grant writer and editor.
