Sebastian Weinell is a young transgender man who was born and raised in Louisiana. In 2017 he graduated from Centenary College of Louisiana with a Bachelor of Arts. He is currently a graduate student studying Social Work at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. He is an intern with UNC's Refugee Mental Health and Wellness Initiative, and through his work there learns something new every day about the need for healthcare that is both accessible to all people and culturally sensitive.
Sebastian has volunteered for the Philadelphia Center in Shreveport, LA and Equality Louisiana, and has been a member of Louisiana Trans Advocates for many years. After he finishes graduate school, he plans to return to the deep south and work in HIV prevention and treatment, as well as continuing his activism work with the LGBTQ community. |
